Qurayshawn Byrdsong
Police said a Qurayshawn Byrdsong fired two shots at them prior to their returning fire in the April 16 incident on Cleveland Avenue.
Byrdsong on Monday was released from the hospital and was booked in the Hamilton County Jail.
He was charged with three counts of attempted first-degree murder, possession of a weapon during the commission of a felony, unlawful possession of a firearm and felony reckless endangerment.
Three officers said they encountered Byrdsong in the 2100 block of Cleveland Avenue and he refused to obey orders to stop. A foot chase began, it was stated.
During the chase, Byrdsong pulled a revolver from his pants pocket and fired the shots, police said.
A silver revolver was recovered near Byrdsong.
Police said numerous civilians were in the area when the gunfire was exchanged.
They said Byrdsong has three convictions for domestic offenses, which prohibit him from possessing a firearm.
