James Shepherd Arrested For Overdose Death Of Woman, 33

The Chattanooga Police Department Narcotics Unit has arrested James Shepherd, 30, on a charge of second-degree murder in a drug overdose case.
 
After a thorough investigation, investigators determined Shepherd supplied heroin to a 33-year-old female who was found deceased on June 11 in a room at 7014 McCutcheon Road.
 
The Hamilton County Medical Examiner's preliminary examination concluded the woman's death was caused by a heroin overdose. 

Shepherd was taken into custody on Tuesday and booked into the Hamilton County Jail. 

The Chattanooga Police Department's Homicide and Crime Scene Units assisted in this investigation along with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA).
