Mrs. Amanda Elizabeth Jones Romans, age 95, of Mentone, AL, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 29, 2019 at her home.

Elizabeth graduated from Baroness Erlanger School of Nursing in Chattanooga in 1945. She became the Operating Room Supervisor at Erlanger Hospital in 1953 where she was known as “the legend” by doctors and staff. After retirement in 1982, she spent summers with her grandchildren and cooked for the campers at Alpine Camp for Boys. She loved to “run the roads” with her cronies and spread the town news.

She made everyone feel like they were the most important person she knew and treated all with love and respect. She would take your smallest problem and make it her own and was known for always doing the right thing. She will be loved and missed by many.

Elizabeth is survived by her daughter-in-law, Jeannie Turner Romans; grandchildren, Priscilla Romans Berarducci (Jon) and Cody Romans; great-granddaughter, Monroe Berarducci; several nieces and nephews; and many friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Monroe Romans; son, William “Bill” Romans; siblings, Rufus C. Jones, Herbert Lovejoy Jones, Edward D. Jones, and Mary Louise Jones Cauthen.

The funeral will be Tuesday, July 2, 2019 at 1 p.m. CST at Burt Chapel-Valley Head. Visitation is Tuesday, July 2, 2019 from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. CST at Burt Chapel-Valley Head. Pastor Mike Ellis will officiate.

Burial will be at Bankhead Cemetery in Mentone, AL
