Several states around Tennessee have decided that they should insert themselves into the decision of whether a woman should have a child or not. Tennessee Republicans are wanting to add Tennessee to the list of states that would restrict a woman’s rights to decide to have a child or not. It is ludicrous that in this day and age, our politicians feel that they should restrict a woman’s reproductive rights.
The Guttmacher Institute found that one in four women will have an abortion by the age of 45. Someone you know, someone you love, someone who work with, or maybe even yourself has made the choice to have an abortion. Our politicians should stop politicizing women’s basic right to access the healthcare that we need.
The choice to have a child or not is a deeply personal and private one. This is a choice that is between a woman, her doctor, and anyone else she chooses to involve. This is not a decision that the government, or anyone else, should be concerned with. We should all resist the government restricting access to safe and necessary reproductive healthcare.

Ms. Gifford, I think you should look up the definition of a “right.” Seems you have it confused with a choice.

Mr. Dunn, I think that you should read the United States Supreme Court rulings Roe vs Wade (1973) and Planned Parenthood vs Casey (1992) and then you should apologize to Ms. Gifford.
