House At Washington Hills Suffers Heavy Fire Damage

A house in Washington Hills suffered heavy fire damage late Wednesday night.

 

At 11:48 p.m., the Chattanooga Fire Department responded to a residential structure fire at 5506 Weigelia Dr. The first arriving fire company encountered heavy smoke and flames in the kitchen and attic space of the structure. 

 

Crews from Quint 6, Quint 7, Squad 7, Quint 8, Engine 15, and Squad 19 brought the fire under control in approximately 15 minutes.

 

No injuries were reported as all occupants had evacuated the residence prior to the fire department's arrival.

However, two adults were displaced from their home. 

 

The cause of the fire has been ruled accidental.  Property value is estimated at $165,000 with a loss of approximately $50,000.
