County Schools Holding Public Meetings On Redistricting That Is Under Consideration

The County Schools are holding public hearings on rezoning of students that is under consideration.

Officials said: 

For the 2020-2021 school year, several redistricting proposals will be under consideration by the Hamilton County Board of Education. No redistricting lines will be finalized until community input has been collected and a final recommendation is approved by the school board. 

Clifton Hills Elementary School - Clifton Hills Elementary has exceeded capacity, and no additional space is available for temporary classrooms. Therefore, redistricting will occur to relieve capacity issues at Clifton Hills. The redistricting will impact Clifton Hills, Calvin Donaldson, and Lookout Mountain Elementary.

East Hamilton Middle School - The new East Hamilton Middle School will open in August 2020. This will result in redistricting for East Hamilton High School, East Hamilton Middle School, Ooltewah Middle School and Ooltewah High School.East Hamilton High School - The new East Hamilton Middle School will open in August 2020. This will result in redistricting for East Hamilton High School, East Hamilton Middle School, Ooltewah Middle School and Ooltewah High School.

Harrison Elementary School - The new Harrison Elementary School will open in August 2020. This will result in redistricting for Hillcrest Elementary School and Harrison Elementary School. Hillcrest will close for students on the last day of school May 2020.
