Applications Open For East Ridge Police Citizen’s Police Academy

The East Ridge Police Department is seeking participants for its Spring Citizen’s Police Academy. Class #20-01 will begin on March 30, from 6-9 p.m. and take place for 10 weeks.

The citizen’s academy is aimed at familiarizing citizens with the various aspects of the law enforcement profession. During these training sessions representatives from various divisions within the police department will conduct presentations and demonstrations on a variety of topics to include, but not limited to: Uniform Patrol, Criminal Investigations, Traffic Enforcement, K-9 Unit, and more.

Students and applications will be processed on a first come first serve basis and are limited to 15 citizens per class.  Applicant must be a resident, business owner, or employee of an East Ridge business and 21 years of age to apply. Applications may be obtained for the Citizen’s Police Academy on the City of East Ridge website, or at the police department, 4214 Ringgold Road Monday through Friday from 8 a.m.-4 p.m.
