Amos “PeRunie” Copeny, Sr., 63, of Chattanooga, passed away Wednesday, February 5, 2020, at his residence.  

He received his equivalency diploma in May 18, 1993.  He was employed with Trojan Labor as a construction worker.  

Amos was preceded in death by his mother, Willie Mason; father, James Copeny; sister, Joycann Copeny; brothers, Oscar Mason, Clenton Mason, Jr., and James Copeny.   

Survivors include his son, Amos Copeny, Jr. of Chattanooga; brothers, Jerry Copeny and Dennis Copeny, both of Chattanooga, and Earl Fossis of Dallas, TX; sisters, Bernice Roberson, Janie Jones, and Brenda Johnson, all of Chattanooga; aunt, Glady Scruggs of Alabama; fiancée, Angela Ashley; stepsons, Andrew Ashley, Malikk Ashley, Devon Ashley,, and Deshawn Ashley, all of Chattanooga; sister-in-law, Pamela Billingsley; mother-in-law, Janice Witt; brother-in-law, Lovell Johnson; best friend, Christopher Tolbert; a host of nephews; aunts; uncles; other relatives and friends.  

He will lie in state on Saturday, Feb. 15, at 9 a.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at noon in the chapel with Pastor Ronald B. Cook, Sr. as the eulogist. 

Burial will be in Tyner Cemetery.
