Carl T. Maxwell, Jr., 78, well-known local pharmacist, passed away on Wednesday, February 26, 2020.

Carl was born February 12, 1942.  He was the son of Carl T. Maxwell, Sr. and Katherine Maxwell Hammer, of Chattanooga.

Carl was a long time member of Hixson United Methodist Church, member of APhA, Valleybrook Golf & Country Club, Sigma CHI Fraternity at University of Chattanooga, Charter member of Chattanooga Boys’ Choir, Cherokee Council of Boy Scouts of America and Explorer Scouts. Carl and his wife Anne were owners of Northgate Flowers until 1998. 

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Carl is survived by his wife of 54 years, Anne Wells Maxwell; son, Carl (Trey) Maxwell, III (wife Lisa) of Dallas, Texas; daughter, Elizabeth Maxwell Rodgers, of Cookville, Tennessee; granddaughters; Emma Rodgers, Abby Rodgers, Natalie Maxwell, grandson, Max Murphy.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 1, in the sanctuary of Hixson United Methodist Church with Reverend Reed Shell and Reverend Randy Martin officiating.

Visitation for Mr. Maxwell will be on Saturday, Feb. 29, from 4–7 p.m. at Hamilton Funeral Home.
