Cleveland City Schools Announces Retirement Of Yates Primary School Principal Mike Collier

Mr. Mike Collier, principal at Yates Primary School, announced his retirement Thursday to the Yates faculty.

Mr. Collier will remain as principal of Yates until early October, but he made his announcement on Thursday afternoon to give the system plenty of time to make administrative decisions.

Cleveland City Schools will begin working soon on the transition that will take place in October.

Starting in 2001, Mr. Collier served Cleveland High School for 11 years as a teacher, coach, athletic director and assistant principal. In 2012, Mr. Collier became the principal of Cleveland Middle School, where he served for four years. Beginning in 2016, Mr. Collier accepted the principal position at Yates Primary School where he will finish his career with Cleveland City Schools.

"We congratulate Mr. Collier on his upcoming retirement and thank him for his many years of service to Cleveland City Schools," officials said.
