Reverend David Trammell Campbell, 84, of Dalton, Georgia, passed into the presence of his Heavenly Father on Saturday, June 20, 2020.

His life was a testament to his love of the Lord and he dedicated most of his years to the ministry. He served as choir director, singer, and deacon, but most of all he was a beloved and devoted pastor. He felt that being a pastor was his true calling and touched the lives of many as he faithfully served churches in Dalton, Alabama and North Carolina. When, because of health reasons, he was no longer able to pastor, he attended Salem Baptist Church and served as a Sunday School teacher.

Trammell was preceded in death by his devoted and loving wife of 57 years, Catherine Cox Campbell, and his parents, Leanora Brown Campbell and Herbert Campbell.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Kayanne and Howell Kerr of Dalton; son and daughter-in-law, Tawna and David Campbell of Dalton; grandchildren, Molly Anne and Alex Kerr; sister, Linda Campbell; brother, Ernest Campbell; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Trammell will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 24, at Salem Baptist Church with Rev. Darey Kittle officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the church. Burial will be in West Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Salem Baptist Church, 1448 Pleasant Grove Drive, Dalton, Ga. 30721 or to Gideons International, P.O. Box 2152, Dalton, Ga. 30722.
