Betty Templeton Stewart, 92, of Chattanooga, passed away on Thursday, July 16, 2020.  

She was born in Chattanooga on Oct. 20, 1927, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. L.H. Templeton. Betty married the love of her life, William F. “Bill” Stewart on March 2, 1947.  

She was a longtime member and Sunday School teacher of Spring Creek Baptist Church in East Ridge, Tn.  Betty was a graduate of Central High School where she was a member of the Honor Society. She spent her professional career as a secretary and office manager for Dr. E. White Patton and Dr. David McCallie.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Frank “Bill” Stewart; father, Leslie Howard Templeton; Mother, Goldie Brogdon Templeton; step-mother, Vera Templeton; two brothers, Leslie H. Templeton, Jr. and James Templeton; two sisters, Thelma Washburn and Barbara Jones.

Survivors include several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.

Betty will be buried alongside her husband at Chattanooga National Cemetery with private graveside services.
