Betty Ruth Kitchen Freeman, 67, of Chattanooga, passed away on Tuesday, November 16, 2021, at her residence.

She was a 1972 graduate of Howard High School and was a member of Rose of Sharon Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Susie Kitchen; brothers, Andrew Kitchen, Charles Kitchen, and John Kitchen, Jr.; and grandchild, Brandon Young.

Survivors include her daughters, Latonya (Halleston) Toney and Princella (Kevin) Austin, both of Chattanooga; brothers, Robert (Carla) Kitchen, Bobby (Gloria) Kitchen, and Eddie (Alyce) Kitchen; sisters, Nina Kitchen and Lennette (Ronald) Clark; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Betty will lie in state on Saturday, Nov. 27, at 9 a.m. at Taylor Funeral Home.

Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. in the chapel with Elder Bobby Kitchen as the eulogist. Burial will be in Lakewood Memory Gardens, East.
