Alfred Buckner
Alfred DeWayne Buckner, 63, of Sale Creek, passed away at his home early Friday morning, May 7, 2021.
He was born in Chattanooga on March 25, 1958 the son of Alfred Shelley Buckner and Carolyn (Stiles) Buckner Johnson.
He was a graduate of Hixson High School, Class of 1978 and earned his associate's degree at Chattanooga State. He retired from TVA as a project controller and was the owner and operator of the Homestead Beef Farm in Sale Creek. DeWayne was a member of the Soddy Daisy Knife Collectors Association, Masonic Volunteer Lodge #549 and the Alhambra Shriners.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Sally (Dowling) Buckner of Sale Creek, his son, Alex (Rachel) Buckner, grandson, Henry James Buckner all of Maryville, his mother, Carolyn Johnson of Hixson, sister, Karen Buckner of Texas, and his two brothers-in-law, Jimmy (Shirley) Dowling and Johnny Dowling all of Jackson, Al.
Graveside funeral services for DeWayne will be held Monday morning, May 10, at 11 a.m. in the Welch-Rogers Cemetery in Sale Creek with his friend Marvin McClendon officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriner’s Children’s Hospital.
The family will receive friends at their home in Sale Creek Sunday afternoon from 4-6 p.m.
The family is being cared for by the Vanderwall Funeral Home in Dayton.
