Hans Hagen Recker, 86, of Oltewah, died on Tuesday, June 8, 2021.

He was born on Feb. 7, 1935 in Hannover, Germany.  After learning engineering, he transferred through his company Hensel to Quebec, Canada.  At the age of 20, he moved to a new job as a mechanical engineer in Toronto for a period of seven years.  In 1964, he was recruited by Mckee Baking Company. His 42 years at McKee Foods saw him design and open lines in new plants in Stuarts Draft, Va., and in Gentry, Ar. His job meant everything to him and his work showed that.  In 2006, he retired to enjoy his new custom home. Tragically, in 2007, he had a life-changing stroke.  He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and soccer coach. He will be missed by those who loved and knew him.

Survivors include his wife, Erika of Ooltewah; son, Robert and his wife, D’Aun of Dallas; granddaughters, Emma and Sydney, all of Dallas; brother, Klaus and his wife, Anna of Germany; nieces, Giulia of Italy, Andrea and Claudia Busche, both of Germany.

The family will receive friends from 1-3 p.m. on Sunday, June 13, at Heritage Funeral Home, 7454 East Brainerd Road, Chattanooga, Tn. 37421.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, June 13, in the funeral home chapel.
