Grace Opens TISAA Season With 106-0 Win Over Bradley Knights

Grace Baptist Academy kicked off a new season this past Friday night moving from playing traditional 11-man football to the eight-man variety in the Tennessee Independent Sports Athletic Association (TISAA). The Golden Eagles first night of competition proved extremely successful as they crushed the visiting Bradley Knights, 106-0.

Mason Long got things going for Grace by returning the opening kickoff 78 yards for a touchdown as the Eagles amassed 62 points in the first quarter and 94 in the first half.

Quarterbacks Cooper Knecht and Wesley Thompson combined for a perfect eight for eight passing night for a total of 134 yards and five TDs. Eagle running backs racked up 187 yards on 17 carries and another four scores.  In all, Grace piled up 322 yards of total offense.

On defense, the Golden eagles were relentless, holding the Knights to just 34 yards of total offense while snagging five interceptions, one being a pick six by Jacob Mock. Carson Knecht recovered a fumble for a score and Wesley Thompson returned a blocked punt for another TD.
