Trident Transport Postpones Cornhole Tournament Benefiting Children’s Hospital

  • Friday, September 24, 2021

“Due to the uptick in COVID-19 cases within our community, we’ve made the tough decision to push our Cornhole Tournament back a couple of weeks to Saturday, Oct. 9,” announced Trident Transport officials planning the 4th annual community cornhole tournament to raise funds for Child Life Services at the Children’s Hospital at Erlanger.

The event was originally scheduled for Saturday.

“We will be taking every precaution necessary to provide a safe event for the Chattanooga community," said Katelyn Clark, organizing the event. "The Cornhole Tournament will still take place in the Chattanooga Choo Choo Gardens from noon to 5 p.m. – the only thing that’s changed is the date."

Team Registrations, donations, and VIP tickets can still be purchased on the event website: tridenttransport.com/cornhole.

“If you’d like to volunteer at the event, please email me at Katelyn.clark@tridenttransport.com.

“Thank you for your patience and understanding as we navigate these uncertain times.”

Trident plans to have a kid’s area, VIP area, local musicians providing live music much of the afternoon during the competition, local beer, food, and cocktails in addition to the cornhole tournament. The cornhole tournament will consist of two divisions: casual and pro. Each team of two will compete in a round-robin style tournament and the top contenders will move on to single elimination championship rounds. Cornhole ATL will be the tournament director for the event and will handle the competition, run the  tournament brackets and referee if needed. First and second place winners in each division will win cash prizes and trophies.

Entry fee for the casual division is $100 and entry fee for the pro division is $180. This registration fee includes entry for a team of two participants into the tournament, drink tickets and swag bags. Team registration can be purchased at www.tridenttransport.com/cornhole.

Tournament participants can choose to upgrade their registration to include VIP access. Trident’s VIP Area, will be completely furnished for VIP patrons and will include unlimited food and drinks. VIP tickets can be purchased at www.tridenttransport.com/cornhole.

The Kid’s Area will be packed full of fun activities for kids and families including the famous slime table from past year’s event.

Sponsors for this year’s cornhole tournament include Chattanooga Choo Choo, CocaCola Bottling Co. United, First Horizon Bank, Gate 11 Distillery, Naked River Brewing Company, Parkway Pourhouse, Mtn. View Ford Lincoln, HHM, Reliance Partners, Tasty Donuts, The Silberman Group, The Tap House, Shull Development, Pinnacle Bank, Real Estate Group Brokerage, Pedego, All About the Bride, Goldman Sachs and more. Sponsorships are still available for purchase at www.tridenttransport.com/cornhole.

Trident has a goal of $30,000 funds raised and this goal can only be accomplished with the help from local businesses and the community. All proceeds from this event go directly to the Children’s Hospital. Trident regularly works with the Children’s Hospital by volunteering their time for patient parties, host toy drives and give donations for whatever they may need.

“In recent years, Trident has strived to consistently improve the quality of their work and are committed to keep getting better,” officials said. “As one of the fastest-growing companies in America for four years in a row by Inc. 5000, Trident continues to focus on being one of the best places to work and to give back to the Chattanooga community.”
