The Chickamauga Battlefield Marathon, Half Marathon, Jr. Marathon and Fort Oglethorpe 5k will take place on Saturday, Nov. 12 at 7:30 a.m. in Fort Oglethorpe. In its 42nd year, this annual event and fundraiser of the Chattanooga Track Club will start and finish at historical Barnhardt Circle. Funds raised from this race help support the Club’s mission of supporting running and overall fitness.
The Marathon and Half Marathon courses run through the Chickamauga Battlefield National Military Park. The Fort Oglethorpe 5k is run through historic Barnhardt Circle and Honor Park and benefits the 6th Cavalry Museum and the preservation of the military history of the “Fighting Sixth” Cavalry. The Junior Marathon is for anyone who is interested in completing a marathon over several weeks by running one mile at time, with their final mile being run on Nov.

Each year, this race hosts over 2,000 athletes from over 38 states. In honor of Veterans Day, the event offers a discount for military, law enforcement and emergency responders.
