New Mount Carmel Missionary Baptist Church Celebrates 130 Years Of Serving The Chattanooga Community

The New Mount Carmel Missionary Baptist Church will celebrate 130 years of serving the Chattanooga community in what is now called the Historic Southside on Oct. 22-23.

The theme is “Reimagine…” reflecting the Scripture from 2 Corinthians 5:17. The weekend celebration scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 22 with a free community block party on the Church’s parking lot. The celebration will climax on Sunday, Oct. 23 with special guest Minister Ronald Jones of ABBA House providing the message.  A hearty fellowship dinner will be served at the church following the service. Also on Sunday, it is planned for elders Brother Herbert Dallis, Sisters Gladys Jones and Winnie Sue Dunson to share their memories of joining the church over 70 years ago.
