Christmas & New Year's Solid Waste Collections & Site Schedule

The Department of Public Works would like to remind all residents that City Offices will be closed starting Friday, Dec. 23 to Monday, Dec. 26 in observance of the Christmas Holiday and will reopen Tuesday, Dec. 27. City offices will also be closed Monday, Jan. 2, 2023 in observance of New Year’s Day and reopen Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2023.

Residential Solid Waste and Recycling will be collected on the following days as regularly scheduled:
• Friday, Dec. 23; 
• Monday, Dec. 26; and
• Monday, Jan.
2, 2023.
All residents must have their Solid Waste and Recycling containers at the curbside by 7 a.m. on their designated collection day.

The following locations will be closed starting Friday, Dec. 23, Christmas Eve, Saturday, Dec. 24 and Monday, Dec. 26 in observance of the Christmas holiday. Facilities will resume regular hours on Tuesday, Dec. 27. In observance of New Year’s Day, facilities will be closed Monday, Jan. 2, 2023, and will reopen on Jan. 3, 2023:
 
• Household Hazardous Waste Facility;
• Wood Recycle Center;
• Refuse Collection Centers;
• Recycle Collection Centers;
• The City Landfill located off Birchwood Pike in Harrison; and
• City of Chattanooga Administrative Offices.
