James Norman Teague, Sr.
James Norman Teague, Sr., 80, a resident of Cleveland, Tennessee, passed away Tuesday, February 15, 2022 in a local hospital.
Norman was born in Chattanooga and he was the son of the late Ruby Lee Whaley Teague and John Millard Teague. His wife, Carol H. Teague and sisters, Eugenia A. Tate, Laura Jane Handley also preceded him in death.
Norman was a truck driver most of his life, retiring from Ryder Transportation. He was a U. S. Army veteran serving during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed working on his farm but most of all, he loved spending time with his family especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Norman was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church.
Survivors include his son, James N. Teague Jr. (Amy) Cleveland; grandson, Jamison Teague (Rachel), Ooltewah; granddaughter, Anna Teague, Cleveland; great-grandchildren, Bennett Teague and Sadie Teague, Ooltewah; sister, Johnnie Meeks, Dalton; brothers, Kenneth Teague (Pat), Cocoa Beach, Florida, and Robert Teague (Rhonda), Cleveland; and several nieces and nephews.
The Remembrance of Life Service will be conducted on Sunday, Feb. 20, at 2 p.m. at the Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services Wildwood Chapel with Reverend Charles Carroll and Reverend Mike Wallin officiating. Interment will follow in the Hilcrest Memorial Gardens with Steve Shirley, Tony Arthur, Mark Adams, Darrell Van Ormer, James Laub and Sidney Smith serving as casket bearers. Honorary casket bearers will be grandchildren and great grandchildren. Military honors will be given.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Saturday at the Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services Wildwood Chapel who has charge of the arrangements.
