The Schaeffer Oil Southern National series rolled into Sweetwater, Tennessee's I-75 Raceway for a special Tuesday night shootout for super late models.

Fast qualifier Cory Hedgecock (# 23) of nearby Loudon, Tennessee inherited the lead of the A-Main after a fracas occurred between early race leader "Big" Mack McCarter and challenger Ashton Winger.

The incident saw Winger's # 22 violently flip down the back straight away multiple times before coming to a rest on all four tires. Winger would then attack McCarter, on the track which ended both drivers' night.

Hedgecock went on to lead the final 16 laps to pick up the $4,053 payday. Fort Payne Alabama's Sam Seawright was second and Johnson City's Jensen Ford rounded out the podium finishers. Heath Hindman of Signal Mountain finished 22nd overall.

The racing program was delayed twice by rain, but series officials decided to forge ahead with the event. The series takes Wednesday off before returning to Senoia, Georgia on Thursday. Racing action is broadcast live on Floracing.com for subscribers of the website.
