Tennessee General Assembly members gathered Wednesday to present Melissa Blevins, CEO of the Chattanooga Area Food Bank, with a Joint House and Senate Resolution celebrating the organization’s 50th Anniversary.

After presenting Ms. Blevins with the resolution, Senator Bo Watson, Senator Todd Gardenhire, Rep. Patsy Hazlewood, Rep. Greg Martin, Rep. Greg Vital and Rep. Yusuf Hakeem toured the Chattanooga Area Food Bank facility.

Ms. Blevins described how the COVID-19 pandemic impacted Chattanooga and the surrounding area’s communities, nearly doubling the amount of those experiencing food insecurity and relying on resources such as the Chattanooga Area Food Bank.
