William “Bill” Gray, age 76, a resident of Cleveland, Tennessee, passed away on Thursday, August 25, 2022.

Bill was a native of Cleveland and had been an area Allstate Insurance agent for many years.  Bill was a devoted Dad, Papaw and Poppy to his beloved family.  He was an avid motorcyclist, fisherman and a wonderful family man.  Bill was a proud Army Veteran and served our country during the Vietnam War.  He achieved many accommodations: National Defense Service Medal, Sharpshooter Badge and Good Conduct Medal. 

Bill was born on Sept. 16, 1945 to George and Kate Gray, both precede him in death. He is also preceded in death by his wife, Judy Gray; and brothers, Phil Gray, Larry Gray and David Gray.

Bill is survived by one son, Alan Gray and wife Stacy; sister, Beverly Chapman and husband Forrest; three grandchildren, Brooklynn Gray, Skylar and Cordy Cross of Cleveland and Morgan Gray of Murfreesboro TN; six great-grandchildren, Jaydin Gray, Hayden Lindsey, Bryson Gray, Alayah Cross, Kami Gray and Cooper Cross; and numerous nieces and nephews and loving friend, Nancy Atchley. 

A celebration of his life will be at 2 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 2, in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Matt Bottoms officiating.

The family will receive friends on Friday, Sept. 2, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.

Interment will follow the service at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Brandon West, Chad Smith, Logan Gibson, George Gray, Cordy Cross, Jason Gray serving as pallbearer and Honorary Pall Bearer Jaydin Gray.  Matt Bottoms will officiate the graveside service. A release of white doves and playing of bagpipes will conclude the service.
