Calvin White
Calvin B. White, 59, of Chattanooga, passed away on Friday, January 27, 2023, at his residence.
He was a graduate of Howard High School and then later received his master’s degree. He was a member of Second Missionary Baptist Church. Pastor White was the pastor of Christ Hope Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his father, Calvin Butts; mother, Betty Jean White; and sisters, Betty Ann Robinson and Veronica Jefferson.
He was a father and mentor of many.
Survivors include his brothers, Micheal White, James White, Stanley Butts, and Aaron Butts; sisters, Mary White (David) Fitch and Sandra Butts; uncle, Johnny (Shirley) White; aunt, Mary Green; a very special friend and significant other, Mary Smith, all of Chattanooga; a host of loving nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends.
Pastor White will lie in state on Saturday, Feb. 4, from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be on Sunday, Feb. 5, at 2 p.m. in the chapel.
Burial will be on Monday, Feb. 6, at 11 a.m. in Forest Hills Cemetery.
