Dr. Linda Cash Named CSCC Commencement Speaker

Cleveland State Community College announces that Dr. Linda Cash, director of schools for Bradley County, will be the keynote speaker at the Spring 2023 Commencement. Over 500 degrees and certificates will be awarded during the graduation ceremony on Friday, May 5, 5:30 p.m. in the L. Quentin Lane Gymnasium on the Cleveland State campus. 

As the director of schools, Dr. Cash oversees the academic programs and administrative functions of 18 schools. She has implemented several initiatives aimed at improving student achievement, including the idea and implementation of the Partners in Industry and Education (PIE) Center.
Dr. Cash is an active member of several professional organizations and serves on the Textbook Commission for the Tennessee Department of Education.

Dr. Cash said, “I am honored and excited to be selected as the Commencement Speaker for the upcoming graduation ceremony. It is a privilege to address the graduates and their families on this momentous occasion and to celebrate their achievements. I have always believed that education is the key to unlocking opportunities and achieving success in life. As an educator and superintendent, I have seen firsthand the transformative power of education and the impact it can have on individuals and communities.”

Dr. Cash began her career as a teacher. She earned her bachelor’s degree in health and physical education and later pursued a master’s degree in supervision and administration then obtained her doctoral degree in leadership and professional practice. Over the course of her career, Dr. Cash has held various leadership positions in education including principal and assistant superintendent.

“Dr. Cash is a courageous, visionary leader who has dedicated her career to improving the lives of students. We are honored that she will be our commencement speaker at Cleveland State,” said Dr. Ty Stone, Cleveland State president. “Our students have worked hard, and we look forward to celebrating their achievements.”

“I want to congratulate the graduates on their achievements and thank the faculty, staff, and administration at Cleveland State Community College for their tireless dedication and commitment to providing an exceptional education to our students,” said Dr. Cash. “I am honored to be a part of this special day and to celebrate the accomplishments of the graduating class. I look forward to seeing the positive impact that these graduates will have on our community and beyond.”
