Upcoming Road Closings For Special Events Announced

Here are upcoming road closings for special events:

Grateful Gobbler

The Grateful Gobbler 5K will take place Thursday, with the following closures or restrictions starting at 5 a.m. until 11 a.m.:

· River Street between Tremont Street and Manufacturers Road

· Bike lane on Frazier Avenue between Market Street and Tremont Street

· Tremont Street between Frazier Avenue and River Street

· Right turn lane from Cherokee Boulevard eastbound to Market Street southbound

· Market Street between Frazier Avenue and Martin Luther King Boulevard, with the following intersections with limited to no access crossing Market Street:

o Aquarium Way

o 3rd Street

o 4th Street

o 5th Street

o 6th Street

o 7th Street

o 8th Street

Detours south of the Tennessee River can be made via Broad Street or Georgia Ave. Detours to access north of the Tennessee River should use Barton Avenue or Highway 27.

Emergency vehicles will be permitted to cross Market Street at 4th Street.

Reindeer On The Riverfront & Lighted Boat Parade

The annual Reindeer On The Riverfront & Lighted Boat Parade will take place Friday, November 29th with the following closures starting at 10 AM until Midnight:

· Riverfront Parkway from E Aquarium Way to Molly Lane (closest to SpringHill Suites)

· Veterans Bridge northbound ramp connecting to Riverfront Parkway westbound

· Chestnut Street from W Aquarium Way and Riverfront Parkway

· Power Alley from the Riverfront Parking Lot access to Riverfront Parkway

o When the public lot fills to capacity, the closure will be moved up to W Aquarium Way

· All tractor trailer traffic will be restricted east of Martin Luther King Blvd and will be required to detour via MLK Blvd and Houston Street

Turkey Trot

The annual Turkey Trot Fun Run, 1 Mile Family Walk and 4m Race will take place Thursday, with the following closures or restrictions starting at 7 a.m. until 10:30 a.m.:

· Eastbound right lane of Lee Highway between Honest Street and Vance Road

· Van Ness Road between Lee Highway and Vance Road

· Vance Road between Van Ness Road and Lee Highway

· Police will be present at the intersection of East Brainerd Road and Aberdeen Drive to briefly stop traffic for participants

Chattanooga Hungry Turkey 5K, 10K and Half Marathon

The annual Hungry Turkey will take place Saturday, with the following closures or restrictions starting at 8 a.m. until noon:

· Tremont Street between the Blue Rhino and Frazier Avenue

· Frazier Ave bike lane between Tremont Street and the Walnut Street Bridge

· Runners will be on the roadway within the Bluff View Art District from the Hunter Museum onto 2nd Street before entering the Tennessee Riverwalk

· Runners will utilize the Tennessee Riverwalk, officers will be present at major intersections of the Riverwalk such as Riverport Drive, River Terminal, Judd Road and Battery Place
