Union Gospel Mission To Serve Over 400 Meals Easter Sunday

  • Friday, March 29, 2024

The Union Gospel Mission will be serving Easter dinners on Sunday, to our unhoused neighbors from 1–3 p.m. on the front lawn of the Bessie Smith Cultural Center located at 200 E. MLK Blvd. Volunteers are needed to help serve. Blessing bags filled with toiletries and snacks for distribution are still needed as well.

“With the help of our community, we expect to serve well over 400 warm Easter Meals and share about the resurrection of Christ and the hope that He brings,” said Rev. Jon Rector, executive director of The Union Gospel Mission. “This year we have seen more in need, officials report more are homeless than in previous years. We are ready to serve and have faith that folks will step up to donate.”

The Union Gospel Mission needs your help with donations of monetary support and supplies. Gallon sized baggies filled with toiletries, sunscreen, socks and snacks are needed to distribute to the unhoused community. Monetary support can be given by visiting www.theuniongospelmission.org or by mail to P.O. Box 983, Chattanooga, Tn. 37401. In kind resources can be brought to The Union Gospel Mission at 124 Signal Hills Boulevard, Chattanooga, Tn. 37405. Gift cards to Walmart and Food City are also accepted.
