The Union Gospel Mission will be serving Easter dinners on Sunday, to our unhoused neighbors from 1–3 p.m. on the front lawn of the Bessie Smith Cultural Center located at 200 E. MLK Blvd. Volunteers are needed to help serve. Blessing bags filled with toiletries and snacks for distribution are still needed as well.
“With the help of our community, we expect to serve well over 400 warm Easter Meals and share about the resurrection of Christ and the hope that He brings,” said Rev. Jon Rector, executive director of The Union Gospel Mission. “This year we have seen more in need, officials report more are homeless than in previous years. We are ready to serve and have faith that folks will step up to donate.”
