MOAA Receives The 5-Star Level Of Excellence Award

  • Wednesday, April 17, 2024
The Chattanooga Chapter of the Military Officers Association of America recently received the 5-Star Level of Excellence award.

"This award is presented annually by MOAA National to the chapters that are considered to be the very best.  Out of over 400 affiliates and chapters across the United States, the Chattanooga Chapter is one of a very few chosen for this award.  We have been a 4-Star holder for many years, but reaching the 5-Star level is a very special achievement," said LTC Raymond Mitchell, Chapter president.  "I must give our past president most of the credit for setting us on the right path.  However, it wouldn’t have been possible without the hard work and dedication of such a great staff.  To our Officers and the entire board of directors and staff, this is your award and well deserved."

The Chattanooga Chapter’s by-monthly newsletter, “The Chattanooga MOAA Volunteer” has also been recognized this year by receiving the 5-Star rating for the Col.
Marvin J. Harris Communication Award.

"We have received this recognition for many years as one of the most informative by-monthly publications among the over 400 chapters," officials said.
