Samuel “Sam” Creed
Samuel “Sam” Creed, 83, passed away on Wednesday, April 3, 2024.
He was a resident of Harrison, TN and a deacon at Harrison First Baptist Church. Sam was an operations specialist in the United States Navy during the Vietnam era, retiring in 1986. He was also a retired postal worker with the United States Postal Service. Sam enjoyed spending time with his family and woodworking. He was also an avid fisherman.
Sam was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Nora Creed, and nine siblings.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Barbara “Bobbi”, sister, Wilma Bowman of Arab, Al., and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, April 7, from 3–7 p.m. at Turner Funeral Home at Highway 58.
A visitation will also be held on Monday, April 8, from 10:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m. A funeral service will follow in the chapel with Pastor Jack Martin officiating.
Sam will be laid to rest in Chattanooga National Cemetery with full military honors.
