"Lunch with Einstein" - acrylic mixed medium, 26x32, $1,200
In-Town Gallery announces the addition of a new member, artist David D'Alessandris.
“I’ve been creating art all my life. I started drawing at the age of three and really haven’t put down a crayon, pencil or paint brush since,” Mr. D’Aessandris said.
Officials said, "Mr. D’Alessandris stresses a commitment to sustainable art. He uses recycled materials, found objects and nontraditional media to create an art of richness, depth and mystery."
Mr. D’Alessandris said, “As digital media replaces the tangible and society tosses away so much of what it produces, turning what otherwise would end up as landfill adds another layer of depth and emotion to my work.”
Mr.
D’Alessandris earned his BFA at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, In. and did post graduate studies at Carnegie Mellon University. During a 30-year career in creative product development, his design work received numerous awards. He has also had many solo exhibitions of his fine art, and his prize-winning paintings, prints, drawings and decorative arts can be found in numerous corporate and private collections.
Showcasing the creativity of local artists for 50 years, In-Town Gallery is located ‘Between the Bridges’ on Chattanooga’s North Shore at 26A Frazier Ave. Hours are Monday-Saturday from 11 a.m.-6 p.m. and from noon-5 p.m. on Sundays. Visit www.intowngallery.com, Facebook and Instagram.
