Pax Breu Ruim at 516 E. Main St. in Chattanooga is hosting a clothing swap on Wednesday, July 17 starting at 6 p.m., with Chelsea Weiss of Holy Moly Textiles.
Organizers said, "There is a $5 suggested donation, and this swap is limited to summer appropriate clothing (think tank tops and shorts, not coats or pants). This is a volunteer run clothing swap with the goal of bringing people together to trade clothing in a fun, budget friendly way and encourage people to keep preloved items in use instead of buying new.
Please prewash clothing and limit your contribution to 20 items or less.
"This is the 5th clothing swap orchestrated by Chelsea. As a seamstress, Chelsea is aware of the value of well-made clothing and values shopping secondhand instead of perpetuating the need to always buy new, fast and cheap. With the motto 'Alter your clothes, not you,' she believes that a little creativity can make a piece of clothing your new favorite item instead of the one you were going to toss out.
"This swap is an organized and fun way to swap clothing and Pax Breu Ruim is a relaxed environment where you can grab a drink and hang out with friends once you’ve found your new treasures."
