Jerry Summers
Because some terms are deserving of definition enthusiastic contributors to Chattanoogan.com sometimes fail to explain a particular word or phrase in their desire to convey important meaning to a non-political message to the readers.
As a public service, the above term is defined as follows:
1) “A feeling of pique or resentment as some often fancied slight or insult.”- Merriam Webster;
2) “To feel upset or annoyed. Usually because you feel that someone has been rude or shown no respect to you.”- Cambridge English Dictionary;
3) “Displeasure or resentment.”- Collins Dictionary
It is reassuring that I now am aware that I may have at least three readers of my words of non-wisdom.
The two close personal and political friends of the little municipality (184,086 folks) and the bigger government (374,682 folks) have now been joined by a dedicated Responder (MS) to my August 24, 2024 article wherein it referred to a 14 page press release- titled “County Mayor Says Latest Hamilton Report Shows Drug Deaths Down, Murders Up in City.”
Although the published report cited by the Responder does state that Murders in Choo Choo City are up 41.7% in 2 years it inadvertently failed to report that Murders are also up 20% in Hamilton County.
In order to curtail any further burden on the dedicated telephone staff on the Hill at (423) 209-6100 I have attached the following direct link to the County mayor’s media release so that concerned citizens can obtain their own 14 page copy of “Hamilton Counted- Accountability through data- 2024 Quarter” complete with the Hamilton County Official Seal.
Click here.
If any viewer cannot get on line at the above site I am certain that the competent staff at the above number will be glad to assist you.
(Thank you MS for teaching the author of this article a new word I am not offended!)
PS: I am not being presumptuous to suggest that the two chief public servants directly read my material but there are rumors!
