Lee’s Humberd To Present Faculty Recital Monday

Lee University’s School of Music will present Dr. Amy Humberd, senior lecturer of music, in a faculty recital on Monday, March 24, at 6 p.m. The performance will take place in Squires Recital Hall, located in the Humanities Building on Lee’s campus.  

The recital will highlight the works of Johannes Brahms, featuring the “Brahms Trio, Op.114” for clarinet, cello, and piano. 

Dr. Humberd joined the full-time faculty of the School of Music in fall 2024 where she had been serving as adjunct professor of clarinet and the recruitment coordinator for three years. She has taught applied clarinet, woodwind pedagogy, chamber music, orchestra, and music theory. She holds masterclasses and clinics throughout the region and is a member of the International Clarinet Association, the College Music Society, and the National Association for Music Education.  

Dr. Humberd has appeared throughout the U.S. and Europe as a soloist, orchestral musician, and chamber musician. She is a founding member of the Civitasolis Reed Quintet, a group dedicated to innovative performances and new music. She has presented at several national and international conferences, including the International Clarinet Association’s ClarinetFest and the North American Saxophone Alliance Region 6 Conference in 2021 and the American Single Reed Summit in 2019.  

She earned her Doctor of Music degree in clarinet performance from Florida State University and a Master of Music and performer’s diploma in clarinet performance from Indiana University’s prestigious Jacobs School of Music. She also has a Bachelor of Music in music education and her Bachelor of Arts in psychology from Lee.  

The recital is free, non-ticketed, and open to the public. Livestream viewing will be available at leeu.live/.
