Officers Uncover Weapons And Drugs - And Other East Ridge Police Calls

Police were informed by dispatch of a subject pointing a weapon at another individual and striking him with it. Officers encountered the two parties. The male subject had given a false name to police. The female subject gave consent to search her vehicle, and a handgun was found under the seat. The handgun was found to be stolen and was recovered. A bag of marijuana and a scale were also found in the vicinity of the male subject, located on the right front passenger door. The party that was assaulted denied prosecuting for anything that occurred. The suspect was charged with Theft of Property (Possession of Stolen Property), Criminal Impersonation, Simple Possession, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. The weapon, scale, drugs, and ammunition were placed into property and evidence at the East Ridge Police Department.

25-003253 – 5300 BLK Haisten Court – Disorder
Police initially were dispatched for an unknown 9-1-1 call after a female answered and said, “she didn’t want to go to jail”. On scene, police spoke with the caller, who advised her son, and she were involved in a disorder after he refused to assist in cleaning up the duplex. Police attempted to speak with the young man however, due to his temperament and nonsensical, slang-based vernacular made it difficult to communicate. Ultimately, it was found to be a verbal disorder, and the mother was advised on the eviction process for her son.

25-003255- Ringgold Rd at Burns Ave – Indecent Exposure
Officers responded to reports of a partially clothed female yelling and located the woman at on Ringgold Rd. During the encounter, tin foil containing 0.9 grams of suspected fentanyl was found on her. Due to signs of severe excited delirium, she was transported for evaluation and is being treated. Warrants were issued for possession of fentanyl and drug paraphernalia.

25-003260 – 700 BLK Astor Ln – Overdose
ERPD was dispatched to a potential overdose. When ERPD arrived, the individual was already awake and denied it was an overdose. Drug paraphernalia was found in the vicinity. The individual denied medical treatment and went back inside.

25-003261 – 300 BLK Camp Jordan Parkway – Disorder
Police were notified by park staff of a male party and his child refusing to leave soccer field #4. On police arrival, the parties were not located.

25-003264 – 1500 BLK Springvale Road - Suspicious Person
The caller reported observing a male wearing an allegedly fake EPB vest approach and knock on his door through a camera system. The complainant advised that after not contacting the homeowner, the subject walked to the backyard of the property and disappeared. Officers did not locate the party, and nothing appeared to have been disturbed.

25-003265 – 3600 BLK Ringgold Road – Property Damage
ERPD was dispatched for a Hit and Run. An employee stated that a person driving a black SUV hit the gas pump and drove away. ERPD was able to identify the driver through camera footage. Both parties involved agreed to handle it civilly through insurance.

25-003266 – 4200 BLK Ringgold Road – Miscellaneous
Police observed a party camping behind the gas station. At the request of the Assistant Manager, he was advised to move off the property.

25-003272 – 1300 BLK Orlando Avenue – Alarm
Police responded to a residential alarm at this location. On scene, police spoke with a homeowner, who advised it was accidental.

Night Shift March 28: D Team

25-003278-1500 BLK Merrill St - Miscellaneous
Police assisted Fire with an elderly female locked out of her residence. Entry was able to be made without damage.

25-003281-3600 BLK Shirl Jo Ln.-Unknown Trouble
Dispatch received a call at the listed address and heard a child screaming in the background as well as a man talking. Police found that the child had accidentally dialed 911.

25-003286-300 BLK Camp Jordan Pkwy.-Lost Property
A caller reported finding a lost debit card and wanted to turn it into the police. The card was placed into property and evidence for safekeeping.

25-003291-500 BLK Camp Jordan Pkwy.-Disorder
The manager reported that a customer was being disorderly and confrontational with staff. Responding officers received conflicting stories from the employees and the customer. The customer was asked to leave, and the police stood by due to the customer being intoxicated. The customer
called a ride and left the property without further incident.

25-003292- 4600 BLK Sherlin Dr- Noise Complaint
Police responded to a call for loud music. The residents turned the music down.

25-003293-1400 BLK St Thomas St.-Suspicious Vehicle/Arrest
Police observed an SUV in the parking lot with blankets over the windows. An officer knocked on the window to check on the occupants. When the occupants opened the door, a strong odor of marijuana came from the vehicle. Police then identified one of the occupants and found that he had two verified warrants through Sessions Court. He was taken into custody and transported to Hamilton County Jail without incident.

Day Shift March 29: B Team

25-003255 – 900 BLK Spring Creek Rd Parkridge East – Warrant Service
A woman was released from the hospital and taken into custody for multiple warrants out of East Ridge and Chattanooga.

25-003294-1400 BLK Marlboro Avenue-Unknown 911
Police checked the area on a 911 hangup; no signs of distress were located on scene.

25-003301- 300 BLK Camp Jordan Parkway – Improperly Parked Autos
The coordinator for the soccer tournament called about vehicles not properly parked in parking stalls and expressed concerns about the ability for emergency vehicles to maneuver around them. Officers spoke with several vehicle operators and advised them to move their vehicles.

25-003306 – 1000 BLK Wynnwood Rd – Missing Person
A woman called ERPD to report her husband as missing since she hasn’t had contact with him in over 24 hours. She stated her husband had taken the family vehicle yesterday and never returned. Upon running the man’s information, officers discovered an active warrant for his arrest from Department of Corrections for escaping a Georgia prison in Atlanta. ERPD advised the wife that her husband is probably not missing as he knows he has this warrant and is just running. A BOLO was issued for the vehicle the fugitive was driving along with his description to surrounding Jurisdictions

25-003308 – 700 BLK Belvoir Avenue– Civil Matter
A man reported his son was still residing in the residence after being served with an “eviction” notice by the property owner. It was determined the property owner did not follow the proper procedure to evict the party and had merely printed off their own letter to advise the party they were evicted. Police advised the party of the procedures the landowner would need to follow to remove his son.

25-003309- 1600 BLK Sunray Drive- Domestic Disorder
Police were originally dispatched to this address for an unknown 911 and then a possibly Mentally Disturbed party a second time. Police determined that a verbal Domestic Disorder had occurred due to the female party being heavily intoxicated and upset with the male party. She was yelling at the man while officers were on the scene. The parties agreed to separate until she sobered up.


25- 003310 – 4214 Ringgold Road – Delayed Disorder
Police spoke with the complainant at the police department after she reported being followed by an older model, black Ford Expedition. The reporting party claimed she was followed by the vehicle due to the driver after she may have inadvertently cut them off and the parties made inappropriate gestures and gang signs towards her. The caller advised the vehicle stopped following her after she entered the police department’s parking lot.

25-003314-5400 BLK Ringgold Road-Suspicious Activity
Police were dispatched to the bank on a report of a dark color Dodge Charger with a female driver charging her phone by the ATM. The party was gone upon Police arrival.

Night Shift March 29: D Team

25-003320 – 3800 BLK Kingwood Circle – Harassment
A party spoke to police regarding an ex-boyfriend and a prior restraining order. Police advised her to renew the restraining order.

25-003323 – Fountain Ave / McHann Drive – Suspicious Person
An anonymous caller reported a man without a shirt shouting. Police performed a well-being check where a woman raised her voice to get her husband’s attention, who was outside on the front porch. There was no incident.

25-003324 – Belvoir Ave / Wiley Ave – Animal Call
A black dog was reported roaming without a leash and appeared to have the mange. Police identified the dog owner, who lived on Melville Avenue, where the dog was returned.

25-003325 – 1300 BLK Laredo Ave – Missing Juvenile
A juvenile who was reported missing, after running away 11 days ago, returned home after he called his 21-year-old sister to pick him up in Ft. Oglethorpe. The juvenile was removed from NCIC as missing.

25-003326- 900 BLK Spring Creek Road- Disorder with a Weapon
Police responded to a disorder with a weapon at the hospital’s Labor and Delivery department, where an off-duty police officer working security dealt with a disorder involving two juvenile males. One juvenile accused another juvenile of pulling out a knife during a verbal disorder. Police reviewed
the security camera recording with hospital security and discovered there was no knife or other weapon displayed during the disorder. Both juvenile males were turned over to their adult guardians, and all parties went their separate ways.

25-003330 – 3900 BLK Fountain Avenue – Suspicious Person
Police were notified of a suspicious male walking in the roadway who seemed disoriented. The party was warned about the hazards of walking in the roadway at night and was provided with a courtesy ride two blocks away to his home.

25-003332 – 3600 BLK Fountain Avenue – Noise Complaint
The Courtesy Officer responded with police to a loud party after a neighbor complained about the noise. The tenant agreed to lower the music and their voices.

25-003336 – 3500 BLK Ringgold Road – DUI Arrest
A man was arrested for DUI after he was discovered asleep at a green light and indicated intoxication over the legal limit while performing standard field sobriety tests.

Day Shift March 30: B Team

25-003337 – 5700 BLK Ringgold Rd Groome Transportation – Suspicious Person
Police responded to this location for reports of a man acting odd inside the lobby for the last 20 mins. The male had taken his shoes off, was talking to himself, and hitting a trashcan. Officers contacted the party who stated he was off his medication. He was asked to leave the location and issued a trespass warning. He understood and left the area on foot.

25-003341 – 300 BLK Camp Jordan Parkway – Parking Enforcement
Parking violators in the area were warned to move by police after police were called to the area regarding parking violations.

25-003342-1400 BLK N Smith Street-Unknown Trouble/Back EMS
Police were dispatched to the hotel on a report of an individual in the hotel hallway who had fallen and was screaming. Upon further investigation, he was found to be having a medical emergency. EMS transported the party for treatment due to a head injury.

25-003343 – 3200 BLK Gleason Dr – Theft of motor vehicle
A man called ERPD to inform us that, while he was sleeping in his car, someone had entered it and started to drive his vehicle. He stated he woke up and slapped the suspect across the face. The suspect fled his vehicle and left it in reverse causing it to crash into a guardrail. He stated the suspect was wearing a mask and doesn’t know what he looked like, but they fled in a white Ford.

25-003344-300 BLK Camp Jordon Parkway-Shots Fired
Police responded to the Camp Jordan Arena for an individual who had a gunshot wound to his leg. Police rendered aid until EMS arrived on scene. Upon further investigation, the shooting was determined to be an accidental discharge from the individual attempting to remove the firearm from its holster to secure it in his vehicle. The injured party was transported to for treatment and the firearm was placed into property and evidence for safekeeping.

25-003349 – 400 BLK McBrien Road – Suspicious Person
A man was trespassed from the store after management wished to discontinue his daily use of the store’s restroom.

25-003353-6700 BLK Ringgold Road-Unknown 911
Police checked the area for a 911 hangup. ERPD contacted a resident of the complex and observed no signs of distress on scene.

Night Shift March 30: D Team

25-003356-200 BLK Edwina CT-Domestic Assault
Police responded to a domestic dispute. The caller alleged she was pushed by her son. Due to conflicting stories and no evidence of an assault, no arrest was made.

25-003359 – 900 BLK Belvoir Avenue – Civil Matter
A married couple of two years called the police while having trouble resolving the matter of disciplining their children. Both parents decided to handle the matter without the need for police intervention. There was no incident to report.

25-003361 – 1300 BLK John Ross Road – Suspicious Person
An anonymous caller reported seeing an adult male walking north on John Ross Road carrying a small rifle and a Skill saw. Police checked the area but did not locate the man.

25-003367- 5300 BLK Clemons Rd– Domestic Disorder
The caller advised seeing a male and female arguing before the male grabbed the female. Officers contacted the parties, and both stated that nothing physical occurred. Both parties agreed to separate.

25-003368 – 5300 BLK Ringgold Road – Burglar Alarm
Dispatch was notified of a stockroom door alarm at the business. Police checked the building and determined it was a faulty alarm.

25-003369 – 700 BLK S Lovell Avenue – Civil Matter
A dog owner reported to police that her dog sitter stole her puppy after failing to return the animal on time. When the dog sitter returned the puppy in the presence of police, the owner decided to drop the matter.

25-003375 – 3600 BLK Cherokee Avenue – Residential Fire
Police assisted the East Ridge Fire Department with a residential fire. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Day Shift March 31: A Team

25-003380 – 3400 BLK Lisa Drive – Harassment
Police spoke to a resident who said she received a phone call early Saturday morning from a man unknown to her. The man was asking to speak with her 9-year-old daughter. The unknown man said he was curious if her daughter found her lost dog.

25-003392 – 4000 BLK Sherlin Drive – Deceptive Practice
Police spoke with representatives who said they received two checks from a client totaling $2400 for services they provided on Friday. The RP said their bank would not pay on the checks. ERPD asked him to contact the bank to determine if the checks were worthless or forged. ERPD advised the next
steps to recoup the funds after the bank’s investigation.

Night Shift March 31: C Team

25-003395 – 5400 BLK Marion Avenue – Disorder
Police responded to a Disorder and found three juvenile females and an adult female had made threats toward each other. Two of the juveniles accused the adult and another juvenile of threatening them with pepper spray. The adult stated the two juveniles pulled a large knife on her, so she threatened them with pepper spray. After speaking with all parties, no injuries were found,
and police could not determine who initiated the disorder. The juveniles were released to their parents.

25-003397 – 600 BLK Shady Lane – Suspicious Activity
Police responded to several reports of shots fired between Pyron Lane and Lanoir Street. Police eventually determined the residents of a home on ShadyLane had been shooting fireworks. The individuals were informed of the East Ridge City Ordinance prohibiting the use of fireworks in the city.

25-003398 – 4100 BLK Monroe Street – Delayed Theft Report

A Loss Prevention Investigator reported a shoplifting incident that occurred on March 23. A female suspect skip scanned several items representing a loss of approximately $50. The suspect used a debit card with a name associated with it. More information will be required before an arrest warrant
can be obtained.

25-003399 – 1500 Tombras Avenue – Disorder
Police responded to a Disorder at the Pioneer Park playground. Officers found a woman had been in a verbal disorder with two other people. She accused the people’s children of bullying her son, and the mothers began screaming at each other. Police separated the individuals, and they all
agreed to stay away from one another.

25-003400 – 700 BLK Germantown Circle– Disorder
Police responded to a disorder at this address and found a man and woman in a verbal argument. The two individuals agreed to separate within their apartment. The female resident also arranged for a family member to pick her up later in the evening.

25-003403 – 4100 BLK Ringgold Road– Disorder Prevention / Property
Damage –

A party requested police assistance in obtaining his vehicle from his ex-girlfriend. After retrieving the vehicle, he reported significant damage to the front end of the vehicle and issues with the fuel tank. He requested a police report documenting the incident.

25-003404 – 3700 BLK Fountain Avenue – Found property
The caller reported finding a wallet near the dumpsters at his apartment complex. Police took possession of the wallet and found an associated owner. Several attempts to contact the owner were made but failed. The wallet was placed in the ERPD Property and Evidence Room for safe keeping.

25-003408 – 1000 BLK S Seminole Drive – Search Warrant / Warrant Service
Police determined the suspect had returned to his residence after a short hospital stay. He also had several felony warrants through the City of East Ridge. Police knocked on the door of his residence and used a loudspeaker to demand his exit from the home. The party would not comply with Police
commands, so a search warrant was obtained. Officers breached the door of the home and located him in his living room. The subject was taken into custody and transported to the Hamilton County Jail without further incident.

25-003412 – 6900 BLK Moreview Road – Suspicious Vehicle
Police observed a white Ford Mustang parked at this residence. The vehicle windows were rolled down and hazard lights flashing. The officer also observed an open door at the residence. Police checked the area but did not locate anyone.

25-003414 – 1400 BLK Mack Smith Road – Disorder Prevention
Police responded to a Disorder Prevention at the motel. Police stood by while a woman retrieved her car. The exchange occurred without incident.
