CLEVELAND, Tenn. -- Going 104-3 while winning three straight TSSAA BlueCross State Championships has earned Bradley Central's Jason Reuter the MaxPreps 2024-25 National Coach of the Year award.

"It's quite an honor," related the big "Papa Bear." "It's humbling. I don't seek individual awards, but it's a nice byproduct of what this team has been able to do. This is a 'team' award, not something I've done by myself.

"This is a once in a lifetime type award and I'm humbled, honored and give God all the Glory for what we've been able to do here."

While dominating Tennessee teams since taking over the state' winningest program 15 years ago, Reuter has expanded the storied Bearette success well beyond the state borders and into the national limelight, finishing the recent season at No.
2 by Hoops Review, fourth by Maxpreps and 12th according to ESPN.

Of the state's winningest program record of 2,401-504-9 (82.6%), Reuter's teams have gone 456-45 record for a program-best 90.1 winning percentage.

During his tenure, Reuter has had 33 players earn collegiate scholarships, plus a few others that had a chance to play at the next level, but chose not to.

Among the ranks of his highly successful players is 2018 Miss Tennessee Basketball Rhyne Howard, a three WNBA All-Star, who has represented the USA on the international level many times, including at the Summer Olympics last August.

Like Howard, recent Clemson commit junior Kimora Fields is a two-time Miss Tennessee finalist, having won this year's honor as well as being named the Maxpreps Tennessee Player of the Year.

This year's championship squad also included college signees Harmonie Ware (Arkansas), TaTianna Stovall (Kennesaw State), Avary Brewer (Samford), Malia Wilcox (Walters State), Alliyah Osborn (Cleveland State) and Love Howard (Chattanooga State).

Making its 10th trip to the TSSAA BlueCross State Championships in Reuter's tenure, his squads have an 14-6 record at the "Glass House," with four "Gold Balls" in the last seven seasons, plus a pair of other Final Four finishes.
