Baylor Bests Knox Catholic In Region Soccer Tournament

Baylor hosted Knoxville Catholic Monday evening in the first round of the region tournament. The Red Raiders soundly defeated the Irish by a score of 6-1

At the 5^th minute, Philippe Laforge scored off a Carter Weekley pass.

At the 8^th minute, Phil Laforge scored off a Heath Techasiriwan pass.

At the 27^th minute, Jackson Bergmann scored off a Phil Laforge cross.

It was 3-0 at halftime.

At the 47^th minute, Knoxville Catholic scored off a free kick.

At the 57^th minute, Jackson Bergmann scored off a free kick. 

At the 59^th minute, Phil Laforge scored off a through ball.

At the 67^th minute, Phin Ellison scored. 

According to Baylor head coach Curtis Blair, “I thought we started off very well. We created some great chances early and finished our chances. I thought we defended very well.” 

Baylor travels on Tuesday to play McCallie at 6 p.m. in the region semifinals.
