Katherine Martin of Chattanooga, was recently elected to membership into The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation's oldest and most selective all-discipline collegiate honor society, at Arkansas State University. Martin is among approximately 20,000 students, faculty, professional staff and alumni to be initiated into Phi Kappa Phi each year. Hamilton County Schools' Excessive Testing - And Response

I am a parent from District 7. My children attend Apison Elementary and East Hamilton Middle School. I have been frustrated for some time now, with the amount of testing that our school district puts our students through. I streamed the last two school board meetings. In the March meeting the school board made it clear that many parents and teachers in the district have also communicated their concerns and frustrations over the amount of testing our district does. Lookouts Fall To Biscuits 10-2

The Chattanooga Lookouts dropped their series opener to the Montgomery Biscuits 10-2 on Tuesday night. Starting pitcher Kevin Abel took the loss allowing six earned runs on ten hits in four innings of work. Catcher Michael Trautwein led the Lookouts offensively going 2-3 including his second homerun of the season. The Lookouts continue their series at Montgomery on Wednesday afternoon at noon. more
