The Real Story Behind The Hemp And THC Bans - And Response

  • Tuesday, April 29, 2025

Just yesterday, ABC News posted a story about the rise in popularity of THC infused seltzers and beverages. It is expected to be a $4 billion industry by 2028. (THC seltzers rise in popularity: What to know about the drinks - ABC News)

That tells you all you need to know about why and how THC and hemp products are being restricted in Tennessee.

Big Alcohol is losing money to marijuana and hemp. Big Alcohol wants to put the THC stores out of business. Then, just as Big Alcohol has been using their money and influence to keep these products out of Tennessee, they'll use their money to push for legalization. Then, once it's legalized, Big Alcohol will come in, open, and own all the stores that sell the products.

Tennessee is one of two states (Missouri being the other) that has the most neighboring states - eight. As much as our conservative consensus loves money, they should be overly eager to legalize and take the potential revenue from the other states.

Until we stop electing the same old officials with the same old allegiances lining their pockets, we'll never get marijuana legalized in Tennessee.

I'm willing to bet we'll be one of the last states to do it.

What I see is more "day trips" to neighboring states. It's too easy and it's Tennessee's loss.

They have been fighting a losing battle since 1937 and that folks is a fact.  Someone needs to wake up in Nashville.
