Daniel F. Martino, a well-known activist and street preacher in Chattanooga for many years, died Sunday at his home at Altoona, Pa. He was 55.

Mr. Martino was the son of Daniel and Sarah Martino.

He earned a master's degree at Tennessee Temple Seminary after completing Philadelphia College of the Bible.

He was frequently in the news picketing local abortion clinics and adult bookstores and making appearances at City Council meetings.

He left Chattanooga and returned to his native Pennsylvania several years ago.

His funeral will be Wednesday at the Mauk & Yates Funeral Home Inc., with burial at Greenwood Cemetery in Altoona.
