Alice Asynion Flury, 87, Rossville, died Thursday, March 27, 2003, in a local health care facility.
She was a lifelong resident of North Georgia and a member of the Rossville Church of Christ. Mrs. Flury had been a cook at Rossville Elementary School and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Pocahontas Chapter # 165.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Flury, sisters, Velva Garnett, Mabel Oliver, Mildred Huskey, and Helen Tinker, and brothers, Parham Foster, Junior Foster, and R. C. Foster. Survivors are son and daughter-in-law, Doug and Ada Flury, Rossville; daughters, Jackie Farrar, her husband, Al, Rumford, Maine, Rebecca Johnson, Rossville; sister and brother-in-law, Catherine and Robert Grindler, Rumford, Maine; seven grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews; also “special daughter and son”, Alma Jo and Ted Green, Arab, Alabama.
Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home chapel with Elder Tom Johnson officiating.
Interment in Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park.
Visitation will be 1-8 p.m. Saturday and 12-2 p.m. Sunday at Heritage Funeral Home, Battlefield Parkway.
