Eugene F. Carlton
Eugene Frank Carlton, 81, of Chattanooga, died on Saturday, October 18, 2008 at his home. He was born in Chattanooga July 29, 1927.
Mr. Carlton was a U.S. Navy veteran serving during World War II and was retired from Combustion Engineering after 32 years of service. He was a member of South Rossville Baptist Church and the Masonic Lodge #549. He was a lifetime member of the Alhambra Shriners.
His mother, Alice Carlton, three sisters, and one brother preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Mary McCloud Carlton; daughter, Nancy (Hal) Blaine of Harrison; godson, Steve McCloud of Chattanooga; beloved niece, Donna (James) Daugherty of Chattanooga; brothers-in-law, David McCloud of Michigan; Marshall McCloud of Flintstone, Ga.; Bill McCloud of Chattanooga; Owen McCloud of Morristown; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, at 1:30 p.m. at the Chattanooga National Cemetery with Rev. Marshall McCloud and Rev. Owen McCloud officiating.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the North Chapel.
