James Washington

James Washington Jr., 79, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, died peacefully at his son’s home on Wednesday, April 15, 2009.

James served his country in the U.S. Army and retired from Bunge Oil.

He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Janet Miles Washington; a son, Reginald Washington; two daughters, Rosalind (Kenneth) Lee and Angela (Earl) Craig; a grandson, Justin Craig; a sister, Margret Brasswell of Dallas, Ga.; a host of loving nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, at 11:30 a.m. in the Chapel of John P. Franklin Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Miles and Rev. Ernest Tanner officiating. The burial with military honors will immediately follow.

The family would like to express a heartfelt thanks to Hospice of Chattanooga.

The family will receive friends on Monday from 6–7 p.m. at John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Avenue, 622-9995.
