Bart’s Lakeshore Restaurant & Lounge Opening This Weekend

  • Wednesday, May 20, 2009

Featuring what the new owner calls “the best view on the Tennessee River,’’ the new Bart’s Lakeshore Restaurant & Lounge will have its grand opening Friday and Saturday.

The restaurant at 5600 Lake Resort Terrace was recently purchased by Bart Huckaby. It had operated as Ari’s Lakeshore for the last 16 years, and a restaurant has been at the present location since 1974.

“I saw the potential of what could happen with a needed facelift,’’ Mr. Huckaby said. “Since I live at Lakeshore, it was also a convenient purchase as well.

“I want to make the place into somewhere I would want to go if I didn’t own it. I like lots of TVs, good servers, plenty of parking and a great view. We’ve got it all.’’

The facelift includes a second bar with seating for 18 in a huge area that includes a dance floor on one end. Bart’s will feature live entertainment every weekend, including the Mudville Mafia this Friday and Saturday.

Tim Starnes will play on Tuedays, Charley Yates on Wednesday with a DJ spinning tunes on Thursdays.

A 21-and-up smoking establishment, Bart’s Lakeshore will be run by managers Larry Price and Stephanie Shaw.

“We’ve got a fun and friendly staff,’’ Mr. Price said. “We’ve got a beautiful bar and lounge with the best view in town.’’

Ms. Shaw is in charge of Sunday’s Brunch and Bloody Mary Bar from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

“We’ve got Chattanooga’s biggest Bloody Mary bar on Sundays,’’ she said. “Bring your own hot sauce if you want, although we have plenty, and join Bart’s Tower of Fire.’’

Bart’s Lakeshore will also have a happy hour on Monday through Friday from 3-7 p.m. and on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The restaurant and lounge will open on Monday-Friday at 3 p.m. and on Saturday and Sunday at 11 a.m.

“The new menu proudly honors Ari’s classic recipes while adding a few touches of our own,’’ Ms. Shaw said.

The menu, available in full for delivery, includes Steak deBurgo, Bacon Wrapped Filet, Surf and Turf, Lobster Tail broiled or fried and Greek Chicken.

“We’ve got all the dinner entrees, but a lot of good bar food as well,’’ Mr. Price said.

Bart’s Lakeshore also has Golden Tee games with scheduled tournaments and Silver Strike Bowling. There are 16-plus TVs for watching sporting events.

“We can plan your next party and let us do the decorating for you with no planning fees,’’ Mr. Huckaby said. “We have an upbeat and motivated staff waiting to make your experience at Bart’s Lakeshore one you will never forget.’’

The number for reservations is 423-870-0777.
