  • Monday, November 26, 2012

Hixson’s Kohl’s Department Store and Children’s Hospital at Erlanger Safe and Sound Program are presenting a holiday safety fair this Saturday, from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. at the Kohl’s Department Store on Highway 153.

“Kohl’s Safe and Sound Holiday Fair is just one of many free programs Children’s Hospital at Erlanger hosts for the local community to provide educational opportunities and promote family safety in our community,” said Coy Ellis, Safe and Sound Program Coordinator.  “We are looking forward to working with our partners this year to feature Chattanooga Police Department bike and helmet safety, fire safety with the Fort Oglethorpe Fire Department, car seat demonstrations, holiday hazard prevention reminders and much more.”

The Kohl’s A-Team will also be on hand with activities for children such as cookie decorating, face painting and crafts, added Mr.

Ellis.

A check presentation from Kohl’s for $61,987 to Children’s Hospital representatives will take place at noon.  Kohl’s has been a proud partner of Children’s Hospital since 2006 donating $292,114 to educate the public about pediatric healthcare and safety.  This year’s donation will go towards Children’s Hospital’s injury prevention program, Safe and Sound, to educate families about the importance of keeping their children safe with prevention tips and educational opportunities.
