The American College of Healthcare Executives has announced the winners of its 2012 publishing awards.
Nancy Poston, FACHE and Chip Caldwell, FACHE, of Chattanooga, and Greg Butler of McKinney, Texas, have won the Dean Conley Award for their article “Cost Reduction in Health Systems: Lessons From an Analysis of $200 Million Saved by Top Performing Healthcare Organizations,” published in the winter 2010 issue of Frontiers of Health Services Management.
In this article, the authors present the results of a nationwide study of more than 200 U.S. healthcare organizations in which they found specific, non-delegable senior leader roles – related to techniques for goal setting, use of data, characteristics of organization-wide accountable change models and cultural characteristics – among the top-performing healthcare organizations.
Mr. Caldwell is chairman, Mr. Butler is president and Ms. Poston is managing principal, growth strategies, of Caldwell Butler & Associates LLC, based in Chattanooga.
