Six time Grammy nominee Charlie Wilson will headline the Coke Stage at Riverbend on Thursday, June 14, it was announced today from Friends of the Festival. Formerly with the Gap Band, Charlie Wilson has been featured on performances with Boyz II Men, Kanye West, Snoop Dog, JayZ, and Quincy Jones. His achievements include:

2012 Grammy Nomination - Best R&B Performance "You Are", 2012 Grammy Nomination - Best R&B Song for "You Are", 2010 Grammy Nomination - Best R&B Album for "Uncle Charlie", 2010 Grammy Nomination - Best Male R&B Vocal Performance for "There Goes My Baby", 2003 Grammy Nomination - Best Rap/Song Collaboration for "Beautiful", and 1997 Grammy Nomination - Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals.

In addition Charlie Wilson was named December 2011 - Billboard Magazine the #2 Adult R&B Artist for 2011 and Billboard Magazine named Charlie Wilson #1 Adult R&B Artist for 2009.

Bursting from an array of musical brilliance, singer, songwriter, pianist Avery Sunshine emerges onto the scene for Riverbend 2012, Wednesday, June 13th at 9:15pm on the Tennessee Valley Federal Credit Union Stage. Rooted in gospel, Avery Sunshine reaches deep into that cornucopia of style and sound and sings a song which articulates the complexities of life with luminous insight. Fluent in many languages from soul and house to classical and hip hop, she lent her voice to the soundtrack for Paramount Pictures' THE FIGHTING TEMPTATIONS. In 2005, she was hired as lead keyboardist for Tyler Perry's stage play, MEET THE BROWNS.

 

BoomBox consists of two versatile producers, DJs, songwriters, multi-instrumentalists and longtime friends Russ Randolph and Zion Rock Godchaux. Together they develop an electronic blend of vintage Rock and Blues made to move dance floors. Man, 44, Stabbed To Death On East Main Street

Chattanooga Police said a 44-year-old man died after being stabbed in the 1200 block of East Main Street around midnight Thursday. Upon arrival, officers located a man suffering from a stab wound. Gary Cross, 23, Is 4th Suspect Arrested In Shooting Death Of Tracy Calloway On July 21

On Friday a fourth suspect, Gary Cross, 23, was arrested on outstanding warrants in relation to the July 21, 2019 shooting which occurred in the 4600 block of Trailwood Drive. The victim from that shooting, Tracy Calloway succumbed to injuries sustained from that shooting on July 22.
