LaFayette Freedom Festival To Be Held June 29

Fireworks, family fun, food and fantastic music will be the theme on Friday, June 29, at LaFayette’s annual Freedom Festival.

 

Johnny Cash Now, a Johnny Cash tribute band, will headline the event, which will be from 5-11 p.m. at the municipal park at the Recreation Department at 638 S. Main St. (South U.S. 27), next to the golf course.  Admission is free.

 

Music City Brass will take will take the stage at 6:30 p.m.  This local band’s repertoire includes Dixieland jazz, gospel and classic country favorites.

 

Johnny Cash Now will kick off their show at 8 p.m.  Their show includes the music of Carl Perkins, Jerry Lee Lewis, June Carter and the Tennessee Three.

 

Dancers @ Heart, led by Vicky Jones, will line dance to popular music at 7:30 p.m.

beside the stage.  They have performed at the Dalton State Fair and as the intermission entertainment at several previous Freedom Festivals.

 

Following the music, fireworks will begin at dark around 10 p.m.

 

The event will also feature entertainment, food and activities vendors.  The old timer’s baseball game begins at 7 p.m., and the pool will be open for a free swim from 7-9 p.m. 

 

Bring a lawn chair and spend the evening.  No animals are permitted except for working animals.

 

The City of LaFayette and LaFayette Woman’s Club are sponsoring the event.
