Korean War Veteran Was Member Of Sons Of The American Revolution

Walter Raleigh Clack, 84, died on Saturday, January 19, 2013 at his home in Soddy Daisy, surrounded by family and friends. 

A native of Rhea County, he had lived in Hixson most of his adult life. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Hixson.

Walter was an Army veteran and served in the Korean War. He was a member of Sons of The American Revolution and the American Legion. He was retired from DuPont.

He was preceded in death by Virginia Bolton Clack, his wife of 50 years; his parents, three sisters and two brothers.

Survivors include his son, Walter D. (Pamela Brock) Clack of Hixson; daughter, Diane Clack (Randy) Edmonds of Signal Mountain; daughter, Karen Clack (Al) Reardon of Oak Ridge and son, Richard (Alissa Baxter) Clack of Hixson; grandchildren, Chad Reardon, Seth Reardon, Whitney Clack, Hannah Clack, Spencer Clack and Emmily Clack.

The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. on Monday, at the North Chapel. 

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 22, at 10:30 a.m. at North Chapel with Reverend Terry Shannon officiating. Private burial will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hope Lodge (American Cancer Society), 2800 Charlotte Ave., Nashville, TN 37203.
