World War II Veteran Was Avid Woodworker

Jack Dee Lawler, 87, passed away on Saturday, January 5, 2013. 

A resident of Chattanooga for over 18 years, he was a member of First Centenary Church.  He was a Navy veteran of World War II and retired from Beatrice Foods.  Jack was an avid woodworker.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Lois Lawler; son, Craig (Barb Amolsch) Lawler of Dallas, TX; daughters, Kim (Russ) Huston of Signal Mountain, Dawn (Art) Johnson of Chattanooga, and Stacy (Bruce) Durham of Chattanooga; brothers, Bruce and Rex Lawler, eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren. and three nephews.

Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 9, at First Centenary Church, The Oak Street Center, 418 Oak Street, Chattanooga, TN 37402, with Reverend Brian Davis officiating.  Interment will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery on Thursday.  

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.  

Visitation is from10 a.m.-12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 9, at Lane Funeral Home, Ashland Terrace.
